How your information is handled.

What I collect

  • To book and reach you: your name, e-mail address and phone number.
  • Your intake and consent: the answers you give on the health + consent intake, any areas you mark on the body map, your consent and the time you gave it.
  • Session notes: after each appointment I keep a short session (SOAP) note, which may include marks on a body diagram showing the areas we worked on.
  • Messages you send through the contact, gift card or interest forms.
  • Basic technical records: your IP address and browser type when you submit a form, kept for security.
  • Visit counts: which pages are viewed, counted by my own analytics on this site's server (see Cookies and analytics below).

How it is used

Only to schedule and deliver your sessions, send confirmations and reminders, and keep the records North Carolina rules require. I do not sell or share your information. I do not use advertising trackers on this site; the only analytics is my own first-party visit counting, which stays on this site's server and which you can turn off.

How your health information is protected

Your intake forms, session (SOAP) notes and body-map marks are health information. They are encrypted before they are stored, only I can read them, and every time a record is opened it is logged. Nothing from your intake or session notes is put in e-mails.

E-mail list and offers

If you tick the box when booking or join through the sign-up window, I keep your e-mail address (and name if you gave it), when you agreed, and the code I sent you. Every such e-mail has a one-click unsubscribe. Once you unsubscribe I keep your address only on a do-not-e-mail list so it never happens again. I keep a one-way code derived from your IP address so the offer is shown at most once every 30 minutes; it can't be turned back into your address.

If you start a booking and don't finish

I keep your name, e-mail and the choices you made so I can send you a link back to where you left off: one note about an hour after you leave, then at most one a day for the next three days. From the third note on, it includes a 20% code for that booking. The notes stop as soon as you book or unsubscribe, and your saved choices are cleared about two weeks after your last visit. Your health form is never part of this.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses a few cookies and browser storage items of its own, listed in full on the Cookie Policy. Visit counting is on unless you turn it off; it records pages viewed with a random id, never your name, e-mail or anything from your health form, and nothing is sent to any other company. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, visit counting is off for you automatically.

How long it is kept

Client records, including intake forms and session notes, are kept for four years after your last visit, as the North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy requires, and are then reviewed for deletion.

Your records and your choices

You can ask for a copy of your records, ask me to correct them, or ask me to delete them once the required retention period has passed. Use the contact form and I will reply within a few business days.

You can turn off analytics at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, and unsubscribe from my e-mails with the link in any of them.

Payments

Sessions are paid in full when you book, by card through Stripe, the payment processor. Your card details go straight to Stripe and are never stored on this site; I receive only a confirmation of the payment, and of any refund.
